Release date set for May 25th, 2010
The release date for Making History II has been officially set for May 25th, 2010! In addition we are running a preorder campaign with Stardock which will give players access to the beta version of the game when we open it up later in the spring. Once we move into open beta we will make preorders available on our site as well. This will be for the digital download version of the game. We're excited to see MHII getting close to release and are working to get you playing as early as possible!
on my birthday, it would sure make a great present
So, when I pre-order it at Stardock (is that the Impulive thing, something like Steam which I do know and own?) I sign up for the beta testing? After beta testing, I don't have to purchase it (again) ?
If you preorder from Stardock (on Impulse) you will automatically receive the beta when we open it up. Your credit card will be charged when the beta is sent to you. After that you will receive updates right on through the beta and the game release.
Making History 2 when released will still run thru this website though after its release correct? So that we can continue with forums and share scenarios? Or will you create a website of it's own seperate from the first version?
All of the community features of Making History II (forums, modding, etc.) will be a part of this website (www.making-history.com). We will be adding the playing of multiplayer MHII games through the website as well.
so the only way to get the beta is to pre-order ? =|
We are running a closed beta that is separate -- the preorder/open beta is later and for people who would rather start playing early and give feedback than wait for the release.
For us thus?
Finaly, Iam so glad that it have finaly come out, well ... you can at least pre-order it!
So, the beta is for (the most) commited people like we at the forum?
That is what I mean :)
I just preordered it thru stardock is there any set date when the beta will be available?
There isn't a firm date for the open beta -- that will depend on how the closed beta goes. Our expectation is that it will be some time in early April.
are you sure know? And it won't be delayed anymore?
I can't find MH II to preorder on Impulse. Where were you able to preorder it from Doctor_Nick?
YES! Can't wait!
And when will we be able to get a hard copy of the game?
Boxed versions of the game will be available on May 25th.
Can you guys give an estimated date for the release of the open beta?
About the beta...
As dave said: Our expectation is that it will be some time in early April.
Whoops, sorry, didnt see that XD
Has it been shiped yet? cause, no offense, but i accidently won the game as you all know.
No, I hasn't been shipped yet. Didn't dave just say the release date is May 25th? Obviously it's not finished yet, so obviously it hasn't shipped yet. And it won't be shipped until May 25th.
I have been a longtime and silent user of Impulse and MH Gold. I have already subscribed through Impulse for MHII.
For others that don't know Impulse, it's from a very respected and serious company that do care our rights. They even have a gamer bill of rights! They get a 5 stars from me for customer and game support. The only thing they miss is Linux support and games.
I'm very happy MHII is available through Impulse an not Steam since Steam was the vehicle of a virus/troian I found and blocked with no harm on my PC. In addition with Impulse you don't have to be online to play games if the game publisher allows it.
Just to clean up, I'm in no way in business with Impulse or Stardock. I'm a customer.
If you downloaded Steam through www.steampowered.com then you shouldn't have had any virus issues :\
Tanks Tehboss, I did, but somehow it attached itself to something... since it didn't happen right away but later on possibly with updates...
I was looking at the Main Battle Tank 1 unit gallery of MH2 and I noticed that the U.S tank and U.S.S.R tank have the same name, M-48 Patton is the title of both tanks. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this...
huh, didn't notice that until you said something
What is the difference between the two betas. If I pre order it, is it the same game that is coming out on May 25th? Is there a difference between the two? These beta things are kind of hard to understand.
One more question. How is MH II compared to Calm and the Storm and the Gold edition? I found the Gold edition of MH kind of hard. You kept running out of goods and arms, you couldn't build anything for the military. Is the Calm and the Storm and MH II going to be like Hearts of Iron I and II? I was really intimadated by HOI II, I haven't even bought HOI III since I was having a hard time with HOI II. Also since Calm and the Storm came out I got rid of even HOI I. MH is a lot better than HOI. Thanks guys for a lot of great games. I just hope it works well with Windows 7 home premuim. I have been having a lot of trouble downloading most of the scenarios. Some work and a lot of others don't.
I was just wondering, how complex will the research part of MH2 be? Will it be the same as the previous games? Or will you add new units to research (other than the super heavy tanks and main battle tanks). I think it would be cool if you could add units or technologies that were specific to one nation. For example, during the war, Japan invented a submarine that could launch airplanes out of it. They also invented super small submarines. The Japanese also created many types of planes. Will units like those be included in the MH2 game?
im new new to MH i have the gold edition. And i have a question on my mind: can i play online in MH?
