The game is still unavailable on steam, actually, there isn't even a page up currently, which I find strange because I remember hearing it would be available on Steam.

By the way, Muzzy, damn. The game is now running on my computer lag free. It looks like all those patches paid off, not to mention the new features in the full version (latest version) just make it awesome-er.

I like the new options for optimizing performance, the new UI is neat, and the UI of the launcher is better.

If I was a reviewer, I'd give this game a 9/10. It's that great, seriously.

We were working with the Steam folks all day, and they have the release version. So hopefully the game will be up on Steam in the next couple of days.

The game still freezes up permanently on my computer. The game looks awsome, but when I try to do anything, it just stops. I can't wait for when that is fixed. I don;t regret buying the game, I just want to play it.

In this first few weeks post-release, it would help get choppiness and crashes fixed much sooner if you install debugview and run it in the background while you play. That way, if there are any issues you can send the logs to techsupport@muzzylane.com.

Finally, it is released. Anyway, I got the game now and playing it but it lags!!!!! please help.

Are you using the arrow keys to pan throughout the map? or are you clicking+dragging. If you click+drag, it reduces lag. The arrow keys don't like to be used for some reason :\

Game is great and I am enjoying it very much. However I have some issues that might need to be looked at.

  1. There is no flags for the country of Pakistan.
  2. There is no way to transfer or demand territorys to other countries.
  3. There is no game editor to start making new scenerios.
  4. I think the food demand needs to be dropped a couple notches. As I have played multiple games now there is no possible way to keep your country from having food shortages even with the most advanced farming upgrades. The speed of the increase for demand of food is quite insane. Even buying food from other nations while producing as much as possible doesnt keep up with demand. Or is there some way to drop demand that I'm not seeing?

  5. With or without a game editor when will new scenerios be created by Muzzy Lane so that we have more than these original three to play?

Anyway thanks for the updates guys and keep up the good work.

Pakistan doesnt deserve a flag since it is run by Mafia terrorists anyway !

great game, love it :D There's just one thing; when I was playing with Yugoslavia, there were some mistakes with the flags and ethnicities as well as nationalities. For instance, the Croatian flag (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Croatian_flags), there is no Montenegro, and Herzegovina is a part of Serbia but it's rather Bosnian and/or Croatian than Serbian. I think that's all what I've found, If I find something else with other nations, I'll be sure to contact you :)) Just making the starting game board more realistic :)

When I play as China, only 1 of my cities can produce arms! why is this the case?

Nucleawasta MHII

soldat its because you need to produce munitions plants.

I also found some errors like conquest mode dosent tell me which cities i need to conquer. Is it fully implemented yet? I couldnt seem to find any difference between that mode and free platy

I now have the latest version. However when I get to the nation selection screen I cant select a country or adjust the models. If I just click 'next' it throws me a Javascript alert that says 'Invalid selection'.

Valerii MHII, MH GOLD

I think there should be added more video options, because the game is buggy for most of the computers.

Chris   Site Admin MHII

HI Valerii,

Can you define "buggy"? Is it slow? Low framerate?

Nucleawasta MHII

is the conquest mode working yet?

Valerii MHII, MH GOLD

Well in "buggy" I mean: When I walk trough the map, it is just buggy. The game runs like on very old computer. I think it's from the performance. The performance should be fixed in the next patch if it's possible. My computer has the maximal system requirements of MH2, but it freses a bit when I wank around the map. I don't know why my computer runs Wings Of Prey, witch is more than 10 GB and freses in MH2, witch is only 1.3 GB? If there is possibe to fix that in the next patch, I'll be glad to see it.

Valerii MHII, MH GOLD

P.S: It's slow and low framerate.

franco MHII, MH GOLD, MH

What Valerii said, My computer is a brand new 64 bit dual core intel 2.8 GHz and 7mb ram. Not a burner by any means but should handle this game easily, assuminmg it was made for mass marketing.

After about 200 turns the game tries to hang on every turn. Very sluggish performance. I like the game a lot if the performance can be improved. I am very patient with AI bugs etc but bad overall performance is not a good omen

crazydude MHII, MH GOLD

MHII runs fine on my computer; I have windows 7 pro 64 bit, 4GB RAM, and a 2.6GHz quad-core AMD processor. Sometimes it lags when I press the end-turn button, but other than that it runs fine.

RedPlanet MHII

TehBoss MHII, MH GOLD, MH

My game runs just like what crazydude just said. It runs fine, but it lags a little bit when end turn, probably due to a large amount of data being processed or something :\

johne_mac MHII, MH GOLD

Is anyone else having the game crash when trying to rebase loaded air transports?

Doctor_Nick MHII

Johne_mac I just had the same problem. I loaded a full plane of paratroopers then selected them to be dropped on an island from the Chinese mainland. The game then froze up on me and crashed. I had selected not to have any auto saves so it was a complete loss of a game. Bummer.... You guys might want to look at why troop transport planes are freezing. Thanks

Can any body tell me what the 'export save' button does?

Soldat98

LOW FPS!!!!! FIX IT!!!!!!

BUGGY PERFORMANCE!!!!! FIX IT!!!!!!!

Seriously, if this is not fixed, our waiting for the game for 2 YEARS would worth nothing.

Valerii MHII, MH GOLD

I will try it on my laptop, I hope it will run.

dave   Site Admin MHII, MH GOLD

@johne_mac - the export save button bundles a saved game into a .mh2 file that can be sent to us so we can reproduce problems.

dave   Site Admin MHII, MH GOLD

@Soldat98 - Update coming soon that should help performance a lot.

Valerii MHII, MH GOLD

I think the performance is the worst problem of MH2. I hope the creators to fix MH2.

At the forefront of this is Muzzy Lane Software’s Making History: The Great War, the latest installment in the educational videogame series designed with consumers and classrooms in mind. The game debuted on Steam Early access on April 4th of this year to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the war. It is due for a September 9th release. The game’s primary focus is Grand Strategy where players are tasked with taking on the Great Powers (or smaller nations such as Cuba) and steering them through the conflict using military, economic, diplomatic, and even domestic tactics.

  • Armchair General previews TGW
    July 17, 2014

"Although the graphic and mechanics are similar to Muzzy Lane’s World War II games, play in the new game is different. The world—even Europe—was not as developed in 1912 as it was in 1933. Gaining wealth and increasing military might is a function of building factories in cities. These factories must have well-developed rail systems, and only Britain and most of Germany are well-heeled in this respect. Powers such as Austria-Hungary and even France didn’t have enough double-tracked lines to expand their manufacturing base or easily move troops. Colonies in Asia and Africa not only have poor transportation systems but very backward agriculture. "
