Update 1.0.13 is Now Available
Another week, another patch. Again, your mighty torrent of feedback has helped us to improve the game. This patch should improve balance, memory usage, end of turn processing time, financial management and a number of other things.
In the coming weeks, we are looking to focus on city and military behaviors ahead of the big multiplayer service launch.
We sincerely hope everyone is having a great time with the game. As always, let us know what we can do to help. If anyone runs into any issues with this patch, let us know immediately and we will address them. Also, this patch is bigger than the last couple since we did some optimizations to the map.
In addition to the patch, we also launched a subtle overhaul of GHQ. You might notice faster loading speeds and a few other things, that's all to get the site ready for the Multiplayer goodness next month. We now have RSS feeds, so subscribe if you want to keep up-to-date.
In the meantime, for those of you that have registered your MHII, enjoy your free MHGold download keys which should be coming your way soon. If you haven't registered, you have until the 15th to get your loyalty rewards.
Keep the comments coming and have a great weekend!

No! Not Qatar! I'm about to invade Qatar for an oil supply! Sigh I'll just have to send more units.
since you were working on Atomic bomb stuff, was there a fix for ICBM's in this release? Just wondering because it is a big bummer that ICBM's don't work at all.
thx, for adding armies to qatar and kuwait, is it coz of my suggestion? ;) well done, thx whole ML-team and especially dave!
I think the greatest fixes here are definitley for food, plane travel, and also the fix on opposition to aggression by AI. Thanks Muzzy!
Lots of content chagnes, Thank you gentlemen, let the testing begin...
When i go to select a nation to play nothing is listed
@x-klikka - Yes, the Qatari and Kuwaiti armies are thanks to you...
Fantastic. You folks are doing things just right. Listening to customers and adding suggested features, fixing bugs and giving stuff away. That cement making me the most loyal of customers is hardening around my feet. THANKS.
@westnile3 - What versions are listed on the launcher page? You also may want to go to the Options page and verify content to ensure that the update completed successfully.
and what are the plans for ICBM's? I just don't want to go thru the whole research tree and find out they don't work, so that is why I want to know if they were fixed this patch or if it might be the next patch.
Dave - I am having the same problems as westnile3. I have game version 1.0.13.12292 and launcher 12296. I have gone to the options page and verified. Nothing on the Nations list. I had the same problem when trying to load a save from the previous patch. Have even tried shutting down and rebooting the computer. I have not had a single problem with loading, saving or starting a game on any of the previous patches. I have a quad core with 8GB and 200GB drive.
Ditto for me.
Dave - just in case you need the info. Running Windows 7 - 64 bit
There is a thread in the MH II mistakenly named Patch 1.13. Give it a look see.
Puppet nations will now refuse to transfer all their regions to the master nation what does this mean?
Have some of you successfully updated to 1.0.13?
same problem as westnile. The launcher is totally bugged.
Adil3tr, in other versions you could force your puppet nation to give you all of their regions, thus causing a situation where the puppet nation still existed but had no regions, plus you couldn't transfer nations back to the puppet. This fix makes sure that the puppet nation always exists with at least 1 region, unless of course they are attacked and destroyed via normal play.
the updated finished and the launcher says: Game 1.0.13.12292 Launcher 1.0.13.12296
anyways, whether you load a saved game or start a new game you cannot select a nation or play because all the nations are missing.
Also, ran the Verify files thing and still it doesn't work.
yes, patch works fine! and nice to see that qatar and kuwait joins UK alliance after my invasion as japanese AND my homleand is attacked by US. so nice to see that the time as i only have to concentrate on attacking changes to both, attack-and-defense-acting/reacting. btw, my system is: sony vaio laptop, intel core2 duo P8600@2,4 ghz, 4gb ram, vista 32bit serv pack 2. Autoinstallation worked without any trouble. hope i could help ya.
uninstall and reinstall fixed my problem.
you unistalled and then re-downloaded and reinstalled the entire game again? how did you do that so fast?
Also, once you are at the country selection screen and see no countries, you cannot use the "back" button. The only thing you can do is close the program and start again.
Does it need to put a new fucking shortcut in my start-menu every time it patches??? No big deal, but it annoys the crap out of me.
And god forbid there was a desktop shortcut like even $10 games have. I still don't get that.
Also game version 1.0.13.12292 and launcher version 1.0.13.12296 Windows 7 - 64bit Ultimate: Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600@2,4GHz, 4,0GB DDRII, Nvidia 9800GTX+
To meet the requirements for Games For Windows certification - you can't do that...
Adobe acrobat reader makes a desktop shortcut every time you update it. Games like Borderlands, Civilization IV and Oblivion makes shortcuts as well. Also, Steam and download programs like EA Download Manager all make shortcuts. So, you are saying that NONE of those programs or games are certified by Windows? If that is the case then maybe having certification from Windows isn't really that important.
Some people are ending up with failed upgrades and we're not sure why yet, and are very sorry about it. If you are in this state it would be helpful if you could capture a debugview log of running the "Verify Game Content" command. Downloading the full installer from the website and installing will fix it as well.
Now it works. I had to uninstall the game, then reinstall from the previously downloaded 1.0.4 version, then updated to the 1.0.13 version and it works. Not sure what happened, but I am glad it works.
Dave, are Light Carriers supposed to have 1 or 2 plane capacity. Right now, my Japanese light carriers show they can carry 2 fighters, and they start the game with 1 fighter already on them. Should they be starting with 2 fighters groups or only have 1 and the carriers are displaying the wrong capacity?
So many improvements @.@
I hope the game plays as good as this makes me hope! :)
I just found out that all my performance issues post 1.0.6 were caused by some stupid maintenance program on my computer. Sorry Muzzy i thought it was the game :(. I removed it and the speed is absolutely perfect (this is on patch 1.0.12, still downloading 1.0.13 (this ones a biggie lol long dl time))
Sorry!
Just loaded the 1.0.13. Ran it to start a new game and there are no nations to select. ie game unplayable help!
@ snapjaw: carriers supposed to have two planes, but at the start there is only one "for free" on it.
same for me - no countries in the selection box so can't start a game (win7/64)
deinstall-reinstall helps
helps? do you mean it fixes it or not? will wait for the patch
check the MHII forum, it should fix the problem.
I just screwed myself. I unistalled the game to try and fix the promblem of no nations poping up. I have the bata version but I assume I could use that same link from the e-mail I got before. I never deleted the e-mail. This is the only game I have ever downloaded off the internet for this very reason. I have my order number and everything. Where do I go to re-download my game?
download the demo, install it and then u should register ingame by entering ur serial.key. should work.
thank you, x-klikka. I'll do that right now.
It worked. Thanks, x-klikka.
np buddy.....community first! happy to helped ya.
so I've to reinstall the whole game and reload all updates all savegames probably lost? this pisses me on
This patch details looks great ML. Nice work!
To fix the no nations problem I was forced to reinstall, I happened to export a saved game before hand but i don't know what i have to do to make it work.
Same problem here: "no nations" bug. That happens both when I start a new game and when I load a saved game.
you cant import your old savegames as far as i know they are lost is there no other way than reinstalling?
where can i make suggestions for improvements of the game for the next update?
right here in the forum-on the top of this page (forum), then go to the thread called Making History 2/MHII Name Suggestions and feel free to post.
tried to update to next version didnt work. uninstalled.tried to redownload from original link and keep getting NSIS error whats going on
@stmager, aww seems weird you can export a save file but then not be able to use it again. As for suggestions you can go to the Forum to be proper or you can just slap it on this thread. Preferably the Forum though there is a dedicated suggestion board.
cant get into game. launcher doesnt show nations etc. i'm pissed, sorry.
@hafer -- Looks like your update did not complete properly -- one option is to download the full installer (you can use the demo link - it's the same installer)
I had the same "no nations" problem, so i did what others have suggested and uninstalled. Downloaded again and now works fine. That is the best fix until ML patch it.
No nation selection here either....sigh.....reinstall? or will you make a quick patch?
We think we have a workaround/fix for the failed update that won't require a reinstall -- email me at techsupport@muzzylane.com if you are currently in the failed state and I'll walk you through it.
@dave: can you post here how to fix the problem?
ok - i have emailed tech support as requested but why not just post here or in the forum?
And I have this same problem- no nation to select...
As soon as we have verified that the workaround works for people in the field we will post the instructions. There will also be a hotfix.
the uninstall / reinstall seems to work for me.
Blank Nations List
Reinstalling game did help.
it works but you loose your savegames I hope they find another way to fix this
We are working on a hotfix for this afternoon that will repair the issue without losing saves -- there are some left around files that are causing the issue, which is why some people are seeing the problem and some aren't.
This may look like a stupid question, but can I also download this for my demo? And also i have a persenal problem, I downloaded the demo but I ohnly have 50 turns ( that is understandable for a demo) but I play like 6x 50 turns over and over but I still don't really understand the game, Is there a possibility that you make it a 100 turns?, cause now I won't buy the game because I simply don't understand most parts of it.
(Sorry for my bad English =] )
You can download 1.0.13 and play it as a demo -- the game and the demo are the same expect for the license key. We picked 50 turns because we thought that would be enough to get a feel for the game, but we'll look at it again.
please make it longer cause now, I don't feel like buying it, and I know you guys worked so (freaking) hard for it so i also don't want to download it xD
@Dave will the hotfix you have coming this afternoon be in the form of another small patch? I really have no intrest in uninstalling/installing the entire game. This patch looks very exciting and I have no problem waiting a little longer for a quick fix patch.
Yes -- there will be a small patch this afternoon to fix the issue.
@FockMySock, Thats hardly the way to ask for something..
@westnile3, I ask for more turns to understand the game, If I can understand it I will buy it, If I don't i'll find a other game or keep playing gold =]
