what does the national identities do?

This fixes an editor bug where nations could not be created (for example, making a puppet) from a NationTemplate added by the mod. Existing mods can be fixed by adding new NationTemplates to NationTemplateTemplateList in the xml.

What research program does the game give to Nationtemplate created in a mod?

Thanks for the update! I turned pre-release back on last night and played a 7 hour game. Everything seems to be going smoother, nice work. I've also noticed that the game runs a little faster specially in later turns!

That's god to hear - the optimization of notification handling should be helping in those later turns when things are getting crazy!

There's probably an error in your mod. A debugView log would most likely have an error indicating the problem.

Hope the performace is better in the new update. My quad processor, 16 gb memory, sata3 ssd is too slow for the game after 10 years playing...

But will we be able to use existing mods as templates for new ones?
