Q. What is the GHQ Multiplayer Service?
A. The GHQ Multiplayer Service allows players to play Making History II right from their web browser. It hosts their games and saves game progress in the service, making it available from any internet connected PC.
Q. What is the Sandstone Player? Where can I get the Sandstone Player?
A. The Sandstone Player is a browser plugin that enables 3D gaming right from your browser. It is required to play Making History II in the browser and can be downloaded from making-history.com. It is currently available for Firefox, Chrome, and Opera on Windows, with other browser support coming.
Q. Why do I need an account to use the Multiplayer Service?
A. Your GHQ account is how you are identified in the service.
Q. Why do I need to register my game to uses the Multiplayer Service?
A. The multiplayer service is available to all registered users of Making History II. Registering your game is how the service knows you are a valid user.
Q. Why isn't my browser supported?
A. The Sandstone Player currently supports Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer.
Q. Can I use my Steam version of Making History II with the Multiplayer Service?
A. Yes.
Q. How do I register my Steam copy of Making History II?
A. If you go to the game page for Making History II in your Steam Library and click on the "CD Key" link your license key will be displayed.
Q. Do you support the Mac?
A. Yes
Q. Why am I limited to creating only 3 games?
A. As the service rolls out we are limiting each user to creating 3 games at a time. This may change in the future.
Q. Can I still upload/download Making History Gold and Making History scenarios?
A. Yes
Q. What are the different Turn Timer settings?
A. Off - Turns will end when all players have ended their turn. Notifications will be sent to all players who are not connected to the game when the turn ends.
On - Turns will end based on the turn timer. The turn timer will pause if all players are not connected to the game.
Once a Day - Turns will end at predetermined time each day (for example, 12:00 am).
Q. I created a game but can't start it. Why?
A. The most likely case is that not all the players in the game have selected a nation. All players in a game must select a nation before it can be started.
Q. Why is my game "Suspended".
A. Games on the Multiplayer Service are suspended after 10 minutes if there are no players in the game. To resume a suspended game simply click the "Play Game" button on the game page.
Q. Can I start a game on the Multiplayer Serivce on one computer and finish playing it on another?
A. Yes.
Q. I'm having problems with the Multiplayer Service. What should I do?
