Hitler only intended to invade Poland to reclaim lost German territory and then achieve lebensraum at the expense of the USSR. He also wanted to invade Belgium to create a buffer zone against any Western powers. That was about it. It only became WW2 when Britain and France declared war and Hitler reacted so you could claim they in fact caused WW2 and not Germany xD
