But I think we should get back on topics, I have made a new topic about WW II generals. We can write there instead!

Its just kinda weird that no-one considers the reason why Germany lost the battle of Britain, they had more advanced and a larger amount of planes, however blitzkreig tactics meant that the majority of the planes had to be used during land warfare in Russia, otherwise Germany would have been able to beat Briatain, as they also had larger industries, and more scientists and therefore technology.

Germany was winning the Battle of Britain even though the tactics chosen weren't the best ones for this situation. Just as Britain was about to lose the Battle of Britain Hitler changed the attack to cities because the British bombed Berlin. This allowed the RAF to recover just as they were on the brink of collapse. In the long run this allowed the RAF to gain air supremacy and allowed Britain to stay in the war and eventually win.

I think it's possible if the Germans leanched another massive attack against Britain. The germans had more then 2000 planes afther the Battle for Britain and the UK only a little more than 500.

The British had the most advanced air defences in the world at the time. Coupled with this German planes also had extremely limited flight times left after arriving over Britain. Numbers aren't the only factor :P

Yes. In 1944. A week after D-Day and a couple of years after the Battle Of Britain and when Germany had no hope of doing major offensive actions. Your point? xD

It's Hitler's fault for losing the Battle of Britain. If he weren't so jealous of the Brits, he might have won.

What do you mean Hitler was jealous and why did this cause him to lose?

He respected Britain and actually delayed the Battle of Britain to try to broker a peace deal with Britain

Reminds me of one of Chris' posts on the old forum

Chris said

Weren't they also trying to slip Hitler female hormones to make his mustache fall out? Or is that a historical urban legend?

Chris--

It was in response to this post by Ian

Ian said

I Bet you didn't know this but...

The allies planned to assassinate Hitler by dropping 'thousands of saucy' magazines and pictures over his HQ in the hope it would trigger a heart attack.

The plan was cancelled but the materials collected for air-drop were stolen.

Which make me wonder if he was doing no more than Napolen before him.
