Good idea

I think the oil drilling and even mining for coal and metals would be an excellent add on. You could make a country research (should obviously take a long time) the advanced methods of gaining natural resources, then ultimately implement them.

Still talking resources, I think a major flaw in my opinion is that a country can still produce weapons even when their resources are at zero. I think it is pretty un-realistic. Maybe when your steel gets below zero resource level you can no longer build a tank or a ship. Basically you need minimum resource requirements or you flat out cannot build something.

Also when talking manpower if it gets too a certain level you start feeding off your nations ability to produce since you no longer have enough people in your workforce since they are now in your army.

Heck most of the people that I have seen just say "to heck with" the resources, take the penalty and just build build build more armies to fight. It basically makes the resources/money a non-issue for the game which ultimately leads to the county with the most cities is going to almost always win. I think that takes away from the realism.

Just ideas. I am kind of a freakshow WWII nut and I absolutely love this game so overall it's awesome!
