Etiquette on the forum

Hi All,

Just a quick note about maintaining good forum etiquette. Unlike many forums, we try to avoid lots of restrictive rules and militant policing of the discussions here. The rules really boil down to one thing: ladies and gentlemen, be ladies and gentlemen. We think this makes for a better environment to exchange ideas and opinions, but it does require more personal responsibility from members.

My advice is, if you want to talk about something, go ahead. If some people go off-topic in a thread, ignore those posts and reply to the relevant posts, putting the thread back on track. With the markdown format, it's possible to create a response that quotes only the postings you want to reply to, maintaining your conversation without the unwanted digression. If someone repeatedly spams or thread-jacks with irrelevant posts, it will be brought to their attention.

That being said, please be thoughtful when posting. Always think twice before hitting that "Submit" button!

I have to say, this is the most civilized forum I have ever seen.

It's almost boring :P

Im actually starting to agree with you! Still this is the best forum I ever been on! But Chris, you are starting to get a bit to serious and tough against us. Maybe you are right but if we must be much more careful with what we says now than when this forum was separate, then I think we should go back to have a separate forum!

You think? How so? I think I've been pretty consistent from the old forum to here. The rules haven't changed. You can say anything here that you could say in the old forum.

Considering the website is under strange times. I noticed that Chris was slightly more strict after the "Makarov Incident" but not anymore.

He spammed a bunch of old topics, making it extremely hard to tell what was a legitimate post and what wasn't.

That and a couple of other things but the reason above is the main one.

Seems to always happen on online forums. There is always a jerk.
