Louisiana (Spanish: Luisiana, French: La Louisiane) was the name of an administrative district of New Spain from 1764 to 1803 that represented territory west of the Mississippi River basin, plus New Orleans, Louisiana. Spain acquired the territory from France: see Louisiana (New France). The area, comprising what is now known as the Louisiana Purchase, was turned over to the French for a few days in 1803 before it, in turn, was turned over to the United States. Spain was to be largely a benign absentee landlord administering it from Havana, Cuba and contracting out governing to people from many nationalities as long as they swore allegiance to Spain. Although only maintaining it for 36 years, the Spanish were the ones who in fact were responsible for establishing much of New Orleans and Louisiana character that are normally associated with the French. Further, the Spanish control was to continue Catholic influence in the region.

Spain entered the American Revolutionary War as an ally of France in June 1779, a renewal of the Bourbon Family Compact. France reacquired 'Louisiana' from Spain in the secret Treaty of San Ildefonso in 1800.

this looks pretty good, could turn into a workable scenario! of course, i am going to complain, but still, it looks like a good deal of work. just a little more!

  1. i would make most of North America west of the Colonies into some sort of "indian Territories" - britain, france, and spain "claimed" those territories, but there were hardly any europeans there, and no armies at all. then, the Indians could ally with or against the Americans. also, remove all or most of the cities in these territories, or give them 1 IPU and name them after some local Indian people (Cherokee, Choktaw, etc.).

  2. same problem with Africa - most of africa was still indepedent of Europe at this time. it's hard to find information on the names of those kingdoms on the internet, but it is out there.

  3. China should include Manchuria and Mongolia at this time. it was only in the mid-1800's that territory started to be ceded to the Russians, and never to this degree. Even Sikhote and Amur probably should be included in China. Also, Taiwan ("Formosa") should be part of China.

  4. Korea should be independent

  5. Vietnam should be independent, with Cambodia part of Siam. Laos should be independent. Burma should be independent. Most of India should be parts of non-British empires or Kingdoms (need some research here).

  6. Washington DC didn't exist yet!

I guess most of these don't matter since the war should be in the American colonies. still, I think it's fun to try to recreate entire worlds, so... Anyways, it looks pretty good so far, I'm getting killed by the Brits as the USA..

To add on to what agga said; norway should be independent but in an alliance with denmark. Also; the ottomans controlled more of norther africa at the time.

The reason Valerii called it a "Historical Scenario" is because you're not meant to focus on other events, JUST the American Revolution. Ignore all the other problems such as what the world looked like then, just focus on america in his scenario.

Being a vassal does not mean slavery. Please research the meaning of your English words, or just words in general. Because I am not sure if you realize half of what you go on about.

I am Danish. Denmark once upon a time in the 1600-1800s was a mature european power, like UK, France and Germany. It controlled Skane, Halland, and the regions east of Halland. It also controlled entire Norway. Denmark also should control Schleswig-Holstein.

Denmarks power ended at the war with England in 1807, with the bombardement of Copenhagen. Also at the war with the Germans, and austria-hungarians in 1864.
