The Rise of Prussia - Empire Total War AAR

Prologue:

Prussia, as all ETW payers know it, is a small, but rather powerful country. Yes, Prussia does start out really weak, but if you put in the time to build a navy and a larger army, you're accomplishments could be endless. Usually, I try to build up strength and declar war on anybody I can swallow up. But not this time. This time I will play it right, do what they woudl've done back then, except a tad more agressivley. Hey, without wars, this AAR would be boring economics lol.

Countries I plan to take rightfully Prussian territory from:

  • Poland-Lithuania (West Prussia)
  • Austria (Silesia)
  • Saxony (Saxony)

And countries I will plan to ally with at games' start:

  • Great Britain *(I could use their large navy to my advantage early on)
  • Hamburg (They're small, but given a good amount of time, they could match alot of countries)
  • Austria (They usually end up at war with the Poles, I could exploit this, and then swing around their war with Poland and conquer Silesia with their backs turned)

Part 1: The Building of an Empire

Already in turn 1 I know I need to make my moves last. I seperated some Militia from my main army force in Berlin, and moved them north into the port of Rostock. In an act of giving the Plug Bayonet tech and all my money to Britain, I was able to strike an alliance with them. I think I'm all done for turn 1. Ive got my recruiting up an running, and I'm getting a swell profit from taxation. Already. Only on the second turn. Spain has declared war apon the United Provinces. Prussia has considered the United Provinces as a good ally, considering the relations between the two. But sadly, Prussia didnt back them.

Prussia begins building up a naval and marine expeditionary force. Some new recruits from Berlin are being moved to Rostock. And ships are currently being built in Rostock. Like expected. Prussia's large profit from taxation has reulted in the recovery of 3/4 of the money payed to Britain. That's over 3,000 gold.

It's turn three. Britain has requested a trade agreement, not only that, but they will pay us 550 gold. I accept without hesitation. But apparantly, a Pirate, Captain Kidd has been attacking ships in the Caribbean. Once Prussia's navy is developed, this could become a problem with securing trade in the Caribbean. In an act of diplomacy, Prussia offers Hannover 1,000 gold for indefinate military access. This could prove vital in any intervention in the Spain-United Provinces war. Hamburg rejects. But Hannover is an ally of Britain. A war with Hannover could mean an alliance-wide war. We now offer them all the money we currently have to become their protector. Again, they reject. We now are resulting to threatening them for military access. Again, they reject. Prussia, unwilling to go into war, decides to stop approaching Hannover.

The Chrimean Khanate has been destroyed by the Russians. They are allies of Poland-Lithuania. We should play it safe with them. On the other hand, Poland-Lithuania contains West Prussia, land that is rightfully ours. Prussia wonders wether to attack now with time and power on our side, or later on. We decide to maintain peace. It is too early to attack anybody. Meanwhile, the first ship of the Prussian Expeditionary Force (P.E.F.) has been produced. A couple buildings in small villages have completed construction, and the villages are developing into towns. The United Provinces have been supplied a state gift in a Prussian attempt to boost relations. Soon, the Prussian expeditionary force will arrive in their country and will help fight off the Spanish.

The game it's self takes forever Because u must wait for every country to make there move and it takes about, possibly 1 minute

Yeah, unless you play a small country though, then you only need to see your neighbors move around. When I play Prussia and get big, I tend to get frustrated of the amount of time it takes to finish a turn.
