Scenario: Rise of the Reich

Prologue:
Italy is currently a weak power. Only our great navy is able to compensate for our poor army. We are going to invade Albania. The point of the invasion would be to gain a stepping stone for any future operations throughout the Balkans.
We should immidiately begin tank research. From there, we can modernize our army, air force, and navy.
We will intervine on the Republican side in the Civil War, it could possible boost relations with France and Britain, maybe even the Soviet Union! We will try to stay on the Allied side in any future conflicts. We don't want to completely lose without starting.
There will be no boasts or promises, only what blood and sweat I can serve to the Italian nation.

Part 1:
It's been a while since Italy has seen action. And now, two countries have fallen in the name of Italy. One small nation in the balkans, Albania. Preparations leading up to the naval invasion involved Eagle Wing and the 1st Air Command being rebased to the southern Italian coast.
From there we had carrier fighters and land based fighters completely obliterate the Albanian army. They fell in 1 week. And in 2 weeks, an Italian invasionary force arrived in the Albanian capital. The war was over.
Later I asked France if she'd like to give over Tunisia. Unfortunately they rejected. I asked Egypt for the western desert province, and they accepted. We now almost completely surrounded our next target... Greece.
We declare war on them. The war, much like the Italo-Albanian War, began with massive aerial bombardment of Greek armies and a naval battle bound to be a victory for Italy in the Aegean Sea. With help from the Italian submarine force, we were able to surround the greeks completely.
The opening battle of Thessaly looked like an easy victory. 40,000 Italian troops against 10,000 Greek troops. But when Greek reinforcments arrived, we retreated from the battle. We were going to try many attacks at once so that the Greek army would have to divide into smaller groups, but we couldn't spare enough forces. The battle of Macedonia begins. 30,000 Italian troops against 20,000 Greek troops. The result is an Italian retreat, but throughout the battle, the Greek army lost 10,000 troops.
The Italians held back for a bit so that the air force could bombard Greek targets across the border. Through the 2 week bombardment, the Greeks lost 20,000 men. A new battle began. The naval invasion of the Ionian Islands. The result was an Italian victory, and the area was occupied by Italy. Another set of battles begin across Greece. Italy begins the "Operation Thunder" a campaign meant to attack Macedonia and Thrace.
Both battles are instantly successfull with the help of the Italian air force.
All that is left of Greece are the Aegean Islands and the isolated Island of Crete.
Crete is taken after a whopping 6 week battle. The battle of Crete began with 10,000 Italian troops against 20,000 Greek troops. The Greeks lost 10,000 after the Italians brought 20,000 more troops against the Greek 20,000. Before battle's end, the Greeks had 10,000 and the Italians had 30,000.
The Aegean Islands battle was even worse. The First Battle of the Aegean Islands began with 10,000 Greek troops against an equal 10,000 Italian troops. The First Battle resulted in an Italian defeat. The second battle began again with an equal 10,000 on each side. By the very end of the war, the Italians had 50,000 troops and the Greeks had 10,000.
The Greek government surrendured the very same day.

I ended up getting assrammed by the French, British, and Americans in the end. Apparently they didnt take my invasion of Turkey so good. Once the Brits DOW'd me, the French joined into the 'fun'. Later the americans joined after I invaded Egypt. It was a big ugly mess and I never want to play Italy in MHI or Gold ever again.

Dont give up that easy. Restart and learn from your mistakes. Italy is one of the smaller nations at the start so before you start taking whatever you want around the world you have to build up to be a super power like the rest of them. Once the other ai start to fear you then you can start taking whatever the hell you want. Better Luck next time
