This is all about the second alliance the world knows in 1936. On one side we see the British Alliance with many great powers as members. Think of the UK with its strong partners Canada, South Africa and Australia. An advantage for this alliance is that it spreads all over the globe, from Europe to America to Africa and Asia.
But, there is also an other Alliance at that time. It is formed by three little nations alonside the Baltic Sea. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are not great worldpowers, not even the slightly lower B-powers and it may neven classify as a C-power. No, it almost falls into the same category as Honduras, Bolivia, and Danzig. Besides that, the Alliance is situated, as I mentioned before, next to the Baltic Sea. In the east is the big angry neighbour sir Stalin, and on the west side there is the overly enthousiastic hitler boy from a couple doors away with his outpost East Prussia. The military strenght of the Baltic Alliance isn't that wonderfull. Combined: a few divisions of ground forces, some ships and a tiny airforce.
Now this is what happens. An army general from Lithuanian got in control as the higest Military officer of the Alliance. His nickname was Dutchie. A year later he won the election to become the first Baltic Alliance Leader, the BAL. The year is 1936 and he has a situation to deal with. The tensions coming from the east and west are jeopardizing the stability of the Baltic Alliance.

Subject: Economic, MIlitary and Social reformations and Goals.

Dear Presidensts of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, hereby my first letter to you to keep you, as a party of concern, up to date with the events that are in effect with the Baltic Alliance. Because it is my first week after my inauguration as BAL I have to structure my policies for the future. Therefore this letter will contain a wide scale of futher development visions for the BA. The areas of attention are the BA's economic, military and social structures. At first, to ensure the safety and duralibity of our Alliance, I will show the future planning of the Military of the BA.
- Military: Latvia and Estonia will be considered as the Northern part of the military organisation and are designated to ensure the offensive and defensive capabilities of the BA's military power in their operational area. Their operational area will be the same as the land surface of Latvia and Estonia. Points to be taken into notice for this region are as followed: Defensive issues: Be sure to defend the BA for any hostile attack, with the specific notice for the Soviet USSR as the main possible threat. Offensive issues: None Lithuania as the nation itself will act as the Southern operator of the BA's Military power. The job for Lithuania is as followed: Defensive issues: Defend the BA, with the specific notice of East Prussia, the outpost of Hitler in the east of Europe. To optimize the defense against Germany upgrades of the Southern regions of the BA, in Lithuania, are strongly suggested. Offensive issues: Danzig, Sweden/Finland/Norway?
Next is the economic field of attention.
- Economy: Lithuania is considered to become the Economic centre of the BA. Latvia and Estonia will grow too, but more as they already did in the last years. They are considered to continue as they do. Lithuania will industrialize, and it should do soon from now so it can establish a good basis for any futher armed conflicts.
Infrastructure and food supply are considered as the social aspects of the BA's structure.
- Social: To evade future food shortages the BA should invest in upgrading of the food production. To ensure the economic endurance it should inmprove overall infrastructure of the regions too.
For all these arrangements and future planning issues the BA needs money. Money we do not always have. Therefore the BA should take a deficit to be able to achieve these goals. As the BAL I aspire to not let the deficit grow out of control, but I will allow it, to a later the be pointed out degree,

Because I grew up in Lithuania and served its army for several years I am the head of command of the Southern Military Operations of the BA. I immidiatly started to do what was needed. I renamed the 1st army of Lithuania to South Command, to fit the adminitstration with the responsibillities of the unit. The original 1st army is split in 3 units: South Command (light artillery with the commanding staf of officers, Marine Corps, and the National Army which has the duty to defend the southern region of Lithuania, which I cannot spell even after checking the name 5 times. Also, the airforce is called South Command too.
July 27, 1936
I ratified a military acces agreement with Danzig. The have a nice airport there. In return to the military acces we organize tourist trips throughout the BA with discount for Danzig citizens. Also we gave the leaders of the small nation a nice Yacht to have their parties on.

I can very well understand why it is difficult to grow as a minor nation like Lithuania, because the biggest problem I now face is get resources, and might even let my resources expand. Talk about micromanagement...
September 28, 1936
Last night I had a dream I was the ruler of all of Scandinavia and the Baltic region. When I woke up I know we are too weak to do anything against USSR, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland and Germany. But now I see Denmark. In the public military situation report from Denmark it looks like they don't have many armies. But I know they have Greenland too. I would like to have their land. Well. Lets see if I can produce transportation ships, and find out what the world would think of a war between the BA and Denmark. I know...it is a risk, but I feel (already :) ) I need to do something to get me out of this shitty situation. Besides, I promised the BA change. With this I give it to them.
November 1936
My planes in Danzig did not see any military defense at Bronholm, the Danish island in the Baltic Sea.
February 1937
My Marine Corps is shipped in and is checking all ships from the North Sea up to the coast of the BA. Denmark has fleet of heavy cruisers in front of their coast at Skaggerat. I could Attack the Danish mainland from the North Sea and I can attack Bornholm. I will produce a fleet now. To defeat the Danish fleet, or at least weak em.
March 1937
The Military leader of Latvia and Estonia did not like my idea of attacking Denmark I presented them. Their opinion is that we should wait and see what happens between the British Alliance, Germany and the USSR. I still prepare, but I keep looking for any possibillities.
April 1937
My military advisors told me that Iceland and Ireland might be good alternatives for Denmark. Scouts did not spotted any naval vessels around Ireland and are still conducting reconaissance around Iceland.
June 1937
No naval defenses around Iceland. I will meet all the Military chiefs from the Baltic Alliance tomorrow to get permission to take Iceland.
July 5, 1937
The only adjustment I had to make to my Iceland-invasion plans was that I send the national army as a backup to help out in case the attack would not go as planned. The amfibious landing is planned in two weeks. Good luck Marines! Hooah!
July 12, 1937
CRISIS! Latvia eventually did not agree with the planned attack... I managed to purseu Estonia of the need of expansion of the BA so they are for the attack. Latvia will be dealt with later. For now they recieved an embargo. Estonian official don't like them either anymore because they believe in cooperation in good and in bad times, and Latvia just bailed out when the decision was already made. Attack will take place as planned.
July 19, 1937
We got mail. 3 embargoes. UK, US and Lavia embargoed us... Iceland has been reformed into a member of the Baltic Alliance.
August 1937
National Army is back on the mainland to prepare for the attack on Latvia. Two corvettes will help in attacking the Latvian fleet.
September 1937
I send the Latvian government with the question to stand more towards the Baltica Alliance and that they might need to change their government for that reason. Otherwise we won't have such a good relation as we had in the past...
November 1937
Next month the military forces will attack Latvia to change the government.
December 6, 1937
Troops are moving across the border. The attack has started with an assault on Courland and with the naval fleet attacking the sub from Latvia.
December 13, 1937
Whoops. It seems the Latvian government saw me coming. They had talks with the USSR to defend them when needed. Now they joined the war against us. I destroyed the submarine from Latvia. Fight soldiers, quick, otherwise the russians are already here. I moved my familly with my nice ship to Reykjavik, always wanted to visit it. Now it seems like the right time.
December 1937
I am losing my battle in Courland. Russians are closing in.
January 1938
The region I cannot spell is in Russian hands. I retreated to my capital Klaipeda to hold the hostiles off. My airforce is attacking any unit they see. Estonia has a hard time too.
January 17, 1938
i lost the Battle of the Lithuanian Capital. So I lost the war too. Therefore I lost the game. I think I personnally did not lose anything because I am in Reykjavik. I know the Russians will get there sometime so I asked assylum in the Netherlands. I heard they liked my nickname. And they are known for their tolerance, so I have hope. I wonder how people will remind me. I brought change for the people in the Baltic region, that is for sure.
