Units are apparently still capable of damaging cities

Ottoman tried to take back Western Anatolia with a amphibious assault

After the assault, the city in the province was reduced to 59 IPU

EDIT: I couldn't find a code about damaging cities with land units. Are you sure this wasn't a problem of lack of Goods?

I just added a new playable power: the United Scandinavia, with Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Islands and Greenland. This is the flag:

I'm thinking of adding more two countries: Netherlands (most territory in Philippines and some in south of Africa) and Japan, because Asia still isn't decently populated... let me know your opinions.

EDIT: is there a good and inspired writer here to help me make the countries' descriptions in the selection menu?

It certainly wasn't a goods penalty. I made sure never to go under 50%, and it was the only city affected.

Maybe change

In sharedDataUnitTemplates.xml to 0 just in case. Maybe amphibious assaults for some reason can cause a bomb city effect.

As for the added countries: The more the merrier. There's a lot of empty space that could be filled with more countries

The problem with making the Netherlands a nation might be that if the capital is alone in Europe, it is probably too vulnerable to capture by Britain, France, and German Confederation. Maybe instead of the Netherlands, make it Kingdom of the United Netherlands (even though it disbanded in 1839) to include Belgium and a Belgian city or two.

But overall its a good idea. A Dutch Gold coast city would add some action to Africa, and Dutch East Indies would remove a lot of the empty space.

Why would you give the Philippines to the Netherlands? Or did you mean the Philippines area meaning Dutch East Indies.

United Scandinavia might be have its cities too spread out if you give it so many locations to defend. Unless of course some of those places are cityless

And I still say you should add another country to South America to give Brazil someone to fight such as the United Provinces of South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Falkland Islands, Uruguay) even though it disbanded in 1830

And maybe Spanish Empire (Spain, Philippines, Cuba, Spanish Morocco/Sahara/Guinea in Africa)

Countries in the list to be added:

  • Spain (pros: one more city in Africa and populate some empty space near Oceania; cons: no buffer zone with France and too scattered around)
  • Argentina (pros: an enemy to Brazil; cons: I'm afraid Brazil won't threaten the Confederates anymore)
  • Japan (pros: more action in Asia; cons: territory too small)

Updates so far:

  • I edited some territories of the countries to make them more accurate but without taking out the balance.
  • New model for the Ironclad.
  • New country: Scandinavia.
  • Lowered the population of India, Qing and Taiping.

To do:

  • I'm trying now to make the Ironclad different for each country (the color), like the land units are (the game doesn't initially support that, but I think it's possible).
  • One new city for each country. Australia: Christchurch; Confederates: Mobile; Brazil: Cuiaba; France: Dakar?; Germany: Cologne or Split (port city in Mediterranean); India: Ahmedabad?; Ottomans: Trebizond or Tunis or Belgrade (I want to hear your opinion about that); Qing: Guilin (to allow them to block the Taiping going to Indochina); Russia: Irkutsk (to help them defending the east); Scandinavia: one city in Greenland; Taiping: Kaifeng (I passed the province Henan to the Taiping); British: Edinburgh, probably (if I put another city in Canada, the Union will be weakened even more); Union: Cleveland (to help them defend from the Confederates).

Opinions on Given City Options:

German Confederation: Split (Gives GC access to the Mediterranean, and therefore more expansion options against African colonies and Ottoman Empire)

Ottoman Empire: Belgrade (OE needs another city on the "German Front")

Unrelated city suggestion remove Norfolk and replace it with another city somewhere (maybe Wilmington North Carolina?). Its the only city outside of Brazil (and I'm guessing Argentina) with a city that co-exists with another city in the same territory. And unlike Brazil/Argentina who don't have 8 territories, the Confederacy has plenty of territories without cities

If you two don't want to, or cannot do it, or suddenly die, I am willing to do this task. Writing only, because I only read the Mod section, I cannot do anything myself. Working together is fine with me too, as long as it will be do-able :)

The more people working on this, the better. But you need to organize by yourselves.

What I need is texts like the one I made for Australia, telling the status of the faction at the time of the game (1861). You can use Wiki as the basis. Some factions like India and Scandinavia will need a little more digging (and in case of India, creativity).
