I've been playing Italy quite often. Especially in the TLOP but every time the war breaks out everything goes wrong for me any Tricks?

Now seriously. I still have a save game with Italy where I am pretty good doing. I did help Nationalist Spain in their war, only to get me an ally early on in the game. And when Germany declared war on Chechoslovakia and later on Hungary, I took some regions. And if I remember correctly, I am now at war with the British Alliance, and took a few regions inside Africa. But it is hard to play Italy. And I am not that far in the game I mentioned. So...Don't play as Italy, or be patient, very patient so you can build up your economy and then you military. Good luck :)

I reccomend building up your IPUs first. Have at least 1 60+ IPU city, and then 50+ port cities, and all other cities 50+ IPUs.
Start mass drafting tanks for attack, and if you ever get attacked, draft tons of conscripts.
You can be very successful as long as you stay out of Germany's way. Conquer Spain very quickly while it's in its civil war. Go after the rest of the Mediterranean nations at your leisure-Albania, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, who are not on Germany's initial target list. You may be able to take bits of France as Germany destroys it, but by the time Germany goes after France, you probably aren't strong enough to take them on on your own. From there you have a strong base to industrialize and continue on whatever path you choose. I was able to take every province in Italy, take half of Britain along with Germany, conquer Australia and much of South East Asia.

You could also invade China when it's in civil war, and/or when it's at war with Japan.
Kind of like attacking Germany, a good time is when their attention is elsewhere, like when theyre invading France or Russia.
Just stay cool, when you are playing as Italy you just have to stay calm and do the most easiest thing! Try not to ally with Germany, only if you have a strong army and navy!

I played with Italy and just yesterday I have the control of all the world! only one Country the game say is live.. Bulgaria.. but no one land is free, when I click on the flag of Bulgaria, the game go in an area of the sea near Africa.. no land, only water.. do you know why?

Marco, this happens when the nation has no more cities so there is no capitol.

How you did that I will never know, but the situation with Bulgaria is apparently a glitch of some sort. I'm not sure how or why it happens, but I've encountered it before (Mostly in multiplayer games, I think) and I can usually fix it by making peace with the nation, giving them a region, and then taking it back.
Not exlusive to Bulgaria, just to clear that up.
DEMONS
Italy in 11 easy steps.
MHG, ROTH, normal.
- Make all or most of your cities produce arms as needed. Start optimizing your provinces. Import everything needed. Don't worry about debt.
- Attack Ethiopia on the first turn (1 city, lots of potential food).
- Mass all your Italian troops in Istria immediately. Attack and occupy Yugoslavia (3 cities, nice resources).
- Attack and occupy Roumania ( 2 cities, lots of resources, rich land).
- Attack and accupy Bulgaria and Albania if you want to (only 3 cities between them and poor resources - but easy).
- Switch off arms production and optimize your cities up to 50 (Italian) and 37 (occupied) - no need for more. Italian provinces should be optimized by now, optimize the occupied ones. Do try not to worry about debt.
- Start producing goods till you almost reach 0, then arms, then research: tanks and offensive strategies first. (The real problem of this game: everything can be solved by tank rushes).
- Build obout 30-40 early tanks in Italy. By the time you have that much you should be able to produce light tanks.
- At the beginning of 1938 start producing light tanks in all Italian cities except Palermo and Cagliari. When Germany attacks/annexes Austria attack them. A memorable battle will ensue. Your first wave will probably be obliterated, maybe the second, but then you will obliterate them.
- Optimize Austrian and German cities. Take out Czekoslovakia (no one will dare to lift a finger at this point) and Hungary but don't touch Poland. Optimize them. Minimize imports. Balance your economy. Research medium tanks.
- Attack and occupy USSR - everybody will applaud. Use only tanks produced in Italy, other cities should keep your economy balanced. Optimize USSR.
You are numero uno by now and you can do just what you want.

Dude once i use italy and never allied with germany but the war did happen except that by a year germany was already losing so i joined up with the ussr and smashed germany from the south of course i managed to have a good economy and army also improve inf,air and light tanks but my point is u can make it but u have got to be smart
o and for good trade try to stay neutral
