What if rockets never existed?
What if the United States lost the Cold War?
What if Italy had revived the Roman Empire in WWII.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Then every single person on Earth would, in unison, say "WTF?".

That's why I put had instead of just had.
What if China wasn't communist?
What if self-determination never divided the Austro-Hungarian Empire?
What if Germany hadn't had so many aces in WWII? (If you look it up, all the top 100 or so aces of WWII are German.)

What if apartheid never ended in South Africa?
Maybe South Africa wouldn't be as messed up as it is now then.

What if we (as humans) had webbed fingers and hands?
We wouldn't be able to operate many objects (no WWs).

Also, we'd probably be better swimmers. And any swimming we do at night would always be in the dark.

So, most likeley, noone would have invented the objects in the first place.

"Human beings may have had a brush with extinction 70,000 years ago, a genetic study suggests. DNA tests indicate the number of humans may have shrunk as low as 2000, surviving in tiny bands across Africa."
What if we had become extinct at the very beginning. Makes you think, doesn't it.

It doesn't what? Make you think? Actually saying we are questioning it proves we are thinking about it and it obviously did make you think otherwise you wouldn't have replied would you thus proving yourself wrong twice.

Why question something that never happened, anyway.

it's called counter-factual history :P

I once met a man who had devoted a whole college semester to writing a counterfactual history report on the effects of what might of happened, had Hernan Cortes died on his expedition into Mexico, and his expeditionary force with him. The author was a bit of a nerd, but it was an extremley interesting article.
