I'm playing with the USSR and I control Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Germany and Finland - should I liberate them and establish a Communist government? My economy started going pretty bad as soon as I started invading more countries, is it because my nation became too big and I get little labor in those lands? Will liberating those nations be a good thing and will it make my economy better?

You're economy probablly started getting worse because you weren't producing as many Goods. What you do with you captured regions is totally up to you. If you want a lot of Allies, liberate them. If you want to be more powerful on your own, then don't.

OK Thanks. Another question. I'm at war with the British alliance. They won't accept peace. Would me liberating some countries improve my chances of UK accepting my peace offer?

Probably not, but kicking their asses would.

Usually, AI nations can help you fend off attacks if anybody attacks, well, they usually do. If I desperately need help, and I still controll a few foreign territories, I liberate them, praying to god that they are able to give me the smallest amount of help.
If you liberate a country, pay attention to the amount of resources that they have in their regions. You may have to help them out with some aid so that they can produce goods and arms and finally armies and if possible navies. This is where I wish you could either supply them with technology/blueprints as in other games or ships planes and tanks, i.e. lend lease.
Watch out buddy, the last time you only got a hole through your head...this time it could be worse

I think of liberating conquered regions as a matter of geographical location. If your playing Germany taking all of Northern Europe and the Balkans this gives you more than enough resources and man power. Let the Italians have the Mediteranian, support the Nationals in Spain. Then start creating allied Facist countries around you. Especially in the USSR where I usually liberate Ukraine and hand over most of the USSR that I conquered. A facist Sweden and Ireland protects your northern flank. After that your clear to conquer anything else you want in the world.
