There should be an option where your port city/shipyard can suspend the production work that they are performing to repair a ship. Realistically a shipyard never ceases all activities to repair ships when there is production going on. A lot of repair work does not require the ship to be in drydock/building ways/slips where most of the ship construction is performed. Unless you have major hull damage/rudder and propulsion systems (propellor/propellor shaft damage) you are not going to require these facilities. If your carrier only needs to replenish its planes you don't need a drydock to do this. Repairs for electronics/guns/deck repairs can be performed at the dockside or by a tender, that is one of the reasons that they created tenders for submarins and destroyers and the like. The tenders performed most of the repair work without having to move the ships into a drydock unless it was absolutely necessary. Tenders were moved from port to port wherever they were needed most, to always have a vessel near at hand that could perform repairs, not only for naval vessels; but; for land forces as well. There is a very interesting story of a US Navy Submarine Tender AS-9 USS Canopus, if you are interested read the story: http://www.tendertale.com/tenders/109/109.html and at this site http://www.shill-family.org/canopus1-5.html.
Watch out buddy, the last time you only got a hole through your head...this time it could be worse
