Story:
As US Oil reserves drop, there is a sudden need for oil. And when Russia, and China face the same problems, only one solution is effective. Territorial expansion. The USA looks hungrily toward the massive oil reserves of Chinese Manchuria. However, China and Russia look toward various Arab nations in the middle east. The Russian Federation's recent victory over Georgia in the Caucases gave them an extra bit of oil, and now the Russians look towards Middle Asia, Turkey, and Iran.
The European Union stands alone in it's opinions. The EU is currently cooperatting with Middle Eastern and African countries to increase oil sales when necesary. The Middle East Coalition was recently formed to make the world aware of the middle east's military power. Recent EU negotiations with Russia and China have resulted in nothing. The Russians and Chinese will continue on to pursue their goals no matter what. Will the EU remain neutral, or will they go to war with Russia, China, and/or the United States to protect the fragile peace that holds the world together? Will the USA invade China? Will Russia invade Iran and Turkey?
About:
The War for Oil is a scenario based around a fictional World War 3. The main beligerents being the United States, Russia, and China. However, other small conflicts may appear throughout the world. The scenario takes place from 2019-2025. BTW, I made a new thread because I had to recently restart on the entire scenario >:( really frustrating stuff! So, all the hard work, over 4 months of work gone.
Modern Day Techs:
I am planning to redefine the Tech Tree, adding tons of new techs, from Sabot Rounds, to Spy Planes, it will probably be there!
Modern Day Nations:
Each nation pretty much has had a makeover of it's AI. The AI for the original nations is gone. Germany most likely will not invade Poland, or annex the Sudetenland.
Modern Day Units:
Sadly, I had to take a few units out of the game. And some have been replaced. But this is all in the name of convinience.
New Alliances:
ANZUS: USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia
European Union: Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, UK, and Turkey
Middle East Coalition: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, UAE (United Arab Emirates)
East Africa Alliance: Ethiopia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan
Global Liberation League (GLL): Russia, China, Mongolia, Communist Korea (North Korea), Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma (Myanmar)

Finally! I'm almost done with adding all the nations in Africa! It sure as hell takes a long time adding relations, flags, and colors to all these new nations.
Anyways, I should have the beta up again today, HORRAY!
Note:
Please, be aware that the beta is a WIP (Work in Progress) version of "The War for Oil". I haven't added ANY new models, units, nation briefing texts, or researches yet.
Also, don't complain about Turkey and Croatia being in the EU. The scenario starts in 2019, and Croatia and Turkey are cantidate states of the EU. Plus, it's a fictional scenario. I say Croatia has joined the EU, however, I might add Turkey to the MEC.
The GLL isn't finished yet, I might add a few more nations.
The MEC isn't finished yet either, I might consider adding Iran, Turkey, and/or Azerbijan.
The EAC (East Africa Coalition) isn't finished. Tanzania and Uganda will also be member states.
The ACU (African Communist Union) might be added in the future, it will be an alliance between all comunist nations in africa (Except for thse in the EAC).
The BETA has been released! Check the top of post 1 for the link!
Everyone should be seeing this in their MH Screen very soon!

Also, I would like to see the models for this mod, cause I'm making a similar mod called Metal Slug: World at War, and I need some Modern/Near Future models.
I haven't added any of the new models in, but the models will be the ones Odanan converted.

All I can say is: You should've downloaded it earlier.

New version, Delta (Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Gamma) will be released on May 14th, 2010. I'm referring to it as Delta, because that is about the stage where I am in the mod's production. I've currently got all of Odanan's new models in, and have begun adding research. I will post all the new techs here.
Remember, I AM ALWAYS UP FOR SUGGESTIONS. So please, give me some help in releasing the full mod by telling me some things you'd like to see in it! I still need models for a Missile Cruiser, a Stealth Destroyer, and Mechanized Infantry for USA, Russia, China, and a U2 Spy Plane!

ICBM --- Currently trying to make nuclear capable, can hit anywhere on the globe.
Spy Plane --- Need U2 Spy Plane model, has long range, doesnt attack, cannot be intercepted.
Nuclear Submarine --- SLBM launching submarine. Can also do the same things vanilla subs can.

All tanks have been replaced by Odanan's new ones. I still need the M60 tank though for USA (is that it?).

So, there will be the Abrams, Leopard, Challenger etc etc? .
And what's with infantry? motorizied and mechanizied ones? planes? Will there be helicopters?

So far only Odanan's models have been added. This includes Air and Tanks.
There will be helicopters once a model is released. Same for infantry, mechanized, motorized, and other.
I don't know Odanan's models :S
Names would be more informativ for me...but ok, i will see today.
Another question, do you know when you will release it? (GMT/UTC+1 Germany)

I'll release it by 5:00 Pacific Standard Time (PST: GMT -8:00) tomorrow, 5/14/2010.
However, if I see that there are a few problems before release tomorrow, I might consider delaying to either Saturday or Sunday as a release.
There are still a few kinks I need to work out.
