Not so friendly goverments

I played as USSR, conquered western Europe and SE Asia, but when I granted most of the countries independence and they reletions quikly fell to 0 and then left my alliance. What can I do?

You can always just make peace before they are totally dead and make them change their government, which since you're USSR would be Communist, then just either let them live with a pitiful amount of land, or transfer some territory so the can do something as your ally.
