Yes, I'm doing it. I've decided to do this in a similar fashion to that of my Austrian AAR. this time from the perspective of the King of Iraq, going after the real life King of the time, Ghazi, though he'll likely be a tad different than in real life, mostly because I know very little about him. At all.
"Upon the death of my father, Faisal I, I rose to the throne of Iraq. I now rule over a small but determined nation. Admittedly, my ambitions are a bit large- The total removal of British and French influence from the Arab world- But I feel that, if Allah is willing, the Iraqi people can do it. However, there is much work to be done beforehand...
Feeling the industrial capacity of Iraq is insufficent for such a crusade, I immediatley set forth a program of industrialization. This will be the first step. Of course, I try not to neglect the economy, and occasionally halt expansion enierly to help pay off debts. We have managed to make quite a bit of money off of oil. Unfortunatley, it was not enough to keep Iraq in the green, and I had no choice but to temporarily disband the Iraqi Army to help slow the loss of money. Luckily, the industrial expansion I set forth on will allow us to rearm more quickly if needed...
Of course, I realized quickly that the Iraqi people, as strong as they may be, could simply not do this alone. We needed help. I saw Germany as the greatest potential ally. When the Spanish Civil War broke out and Germany allied with Fransisco Franco's Nationalists, Iraq quickly did the same. Eventually, Italy joined the fight as well. At this point, Bagdhad was one of the most industrially advanced cities in the world, and the Iraqi economy was booming. We simply had to pay off a few debts. This, I felt, was a good start for our quest to liberate the people of the Arab world. Of course, there was still much work to be done."
Tell me what you think.

Well, at least in comparison to what the US is seeing, (I think it either goes up into the billions or trillions) it's not much at all. Maybe about a hundred thousand or so. Not sure, really.

"Iraq has come a long way since I took up the reigns of power five years ago. We will soon be able to pay off the last of the money we owe. In addition, our Alliance with Germany has gained much power. The annexation of Austria and invasion of Danzig before that have not only sterngthened our German friends, but also gained us two new Allies, Bulgaria and Romania. We also Allies ourselves with Japab to the East, after Japan declared war on China, the Nationalist government experiencing weakness due to the presence of Communist forces. Neither side has really made much progress as of yet, though the Japanese managed to take Chahar in the early stages of the war, while the Chinese launch wave after wave of troops to fight the Japanese, only to get cut down. They seemed more like suicide attacks than anything else. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
Meanwhile, we have managed to stir the first nation that may actually pose a threat to our cause. Upon the German declaration of war on Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union declared war on our Alliance in response. However, this is not all bad, as Hungary has joined our Alliance. The more friends the better, I guess. Though I feel Iraq is safe from attack, this may hinder my ambitions for the future... However, I don't think it will be much of a problem. THe Iraqi people are strong, and so long as the German, Italian and Japanese navies hold out, the Soviets will never even reach our shores... At least, I hope so..."

You know what? I'm going to continue with this.
"At last, we have driven the forgeiners out of the Middle East! We had recently declared war on Poland, leading the British and French to declare war on us. With this turn of events, I quickly gave the order to begin building up an army. With our growing forces, we were able to take control of Saudi Arabia, as well as French and British possesions in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia was, of course, annexed. We have finally met our goals.
There are, however, new issues to adress. Now that Iraq has gained regional domincance in the Middle East, we can now expand you influence further. The neighboring nations of Kuwait, Oman, and even Yemen seem like possible next targets, though we may simply gain unneccisary enemies by doing so, and your Allies are strained as it is. Romania is near total defeat at Soviet hands. Meanwhile, the Germans must fight on two fronts- Against France in the west, and Poland (And to a lesser extent, at least for now, the Soviet Union) in the East. Italian Libya has been captured by the Soviet Union, and established into a Communist state of Libya. Naturally, this is an unacceptable position for our Italian Allies.
Meanwhile, in Asia, the Japanese have made no progress, and it is unlikely they will with the Soviets breathing down their necks. Karafuto has been lost as well. However, the situation is not entirely bleak. The British remain unallied with the Soivets, French, and Chinese, so they will not be cooperating as much. Meanwhile, the Spanish have so far made great progress in Africa, being able to use their African colonies as jumping points. The Italians, although having lost Libya, have managed to take Sudan. With all this in mind, as well as the fact that we are totally cut off from the sea by the British and French navies, we must contemplate our next move.
My advisors have reccomended we either attack Egypt, Turkey, or Persia next. Any of these nations would provide us an opportunity to attack our enemies. Attacking Egypt would allow us access to the Suex Canal and the rest of Africa, Turkey would allow us to attack the Caucusus and the rest of the Soviet Union later on, while Persia would allow us to attack the USSR AND British India, with the Chinese becoming a potential threat much, much sooner. I, of course, will have to make the final decision."

I think you should first invade Egypt, because the Italians are gonna need at least some help. And then I'd go for Turkey, and conquer everything except their USSR border, and then when I'm ready, just re declare war on them and pounce on the USSR.
Once the Caucuses are taken, you get a substantial amount of oil, so that would also help your war effort in some ways.
This is one of the poor aspects of the original MH's ai, where they're able to fight a 3 front war without any problems whatsoever, but in real life, the nation fighting those 3 fronts would be gangraped by it's enemies. In MH1, the amount of fronts you're fighting has no influence on battle capabilities ever. So if you have the troops, you can fight 12 fronts if you wanted to. So don't worry about getting multi fronted, just make sure you're aware of each front during each of your turns, because it won't matter to a great extent how many fronts you get on the USSR.
"I have let so many people down. Not justmy Allies, but my own people as well. I misunderestimated British power. Striking from Egypt, they quickly destroyed the empire I had worked so hard to build. I am not a hero, I have not freed the Middle East from it's chains. Instead, I have only helped the British tighten their grip on the region. As I currently speak, I am taking refuge in the occupied Trucial States, the one area that remains under Iraqi control. Iraq itself as been captured by the vile British. The Saudi Arabians have once more been imprisoned by their former British masters.
The situation is very bleak for Iraq's Allies as well. Italian East Africa has been gobbled up by the British, Poland is pushing the Germans back, the USSR has conqured our Allies in Eastern Europe, and the French have invaded Germany. The British Imperialists, meanwhile, have seized control over most of Spain, the Communist-Alligned Republicans barley getting anything. Now, as I sit here in this building, only able to wait for the British to come and capture me, I worry as to what my fate will be. Though seeing my people imprisoned is punishment enough for me, I fear the British may have something far worse in mind...
Now, as I reflect on how this war unfolded, I've come to realize that I was far too ambitious. Iraq was small, our army was ill-equiped, while our enemies were large and were much more advanced technologically. I was a fool to think I could actually defeat them, with or without German help. But it is too late now, I suppose. What is done is done. I can only hope history does not treat me too unkindly, and that the British are merciful."
And so draws an end to this tale. Yeah, I know that kind of sucked. I'm dissapointed, too. I suppose I can always try again and hope I don't screw it up. Again. What do you guys think?
