There is a similar story about a group of Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima who hid in the tunnels and didn't come out until like 20 years later and learned that the war ended in 1945, I wish I remembered the source though, if I find it I'll post it but it might have been a program on national geographic channel, not sure though :/
