Graphics overhaul

Well, it's that 'good money' that helps fix the games. Companies don't spend money if they can't make it. MHII was announced as a pre-finished version, but you have free updates constantly. I don't see why you wouldn't buy a game that is constantly being improved to your suggestions.

And I'm sorry if you don't have loyalty, but if you really don't, then get off of the website. Muzzy Lane is the most user-friendly and personal game company I've ever encountered. And to say it isn't playable is complete bullshit.

Fine. If you want to waste your cash and receive a broken product in return and waste months of your time wiating for it to become playable thats perfectly fine with me. I have better things to do with my money and time thank you.

Despite hearing several views to the contrary, you still believe the game was not playable, by your own words it seems as if 90% of us couldn't play it, this is wrong, while a good amount had crash problems, it was still a very small amount out of the total. You sir, haven't even played the full game, you have no idea how far the game has come, quit acting like you do, at this point, I don't believe anyone has wasted their money

As for being user friendly and personal - yes they have plenty of time to be pleasant - you have paid them with your cash to do it.

Have you ever tried to report problems with games made by big companies (like EA)? You're lucky to get "okay, we'll look at this" even if you have paid for your product. I was here shortly after MH: C&S was released and I can tell you, Muzzy is fantastic with dealing with their users, they hear every word their community says and most times they act on it, something most game companies don't even attempt to do.

Early payments dont fix games, the prospect of getting cash fixes games. I am an architect and I know perfectly well the complete folly of paying a contractor before he finishes the job. And here you lot are, paying a developer on trust to finish their job. And whilst you go to your lousy office job tomorrow they will be sitting in their swanky offices playing with their game design on your money.

So, what you're saying is that absolutely no one should buy the game until it is 100% bug free and has a "graphics overhaul?" Okay that makes sense... until you figure that no game is bug free on release, if no one buys the game, what incentive is there to fix it?

I'm not even going to touch on the last part of your post because it is pure garbage.

I would really love to see dave or ZenMonken bring out the banhammer, because apparently, nothing will change his mind.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but it's "spa week" at the office, and in between mani-pedis, meditation sessions, beach volleyball and shiatsu massage, my schedule has just been full up! Fortunately, the chlorine level on the Olympic pool in our office was on the fritz, so I had time to check the forum.

Just kidding, of course. Our offices are in an office building converted from a turn-of-the-century textile mill. Hardly "swanky" but we aren't digging ditches in the hot sun, either.

It's easy to jump on Diart for being angry, but the game was in a rocky state when released. We are doing everything we can to fix that, but we shouldn't castigate people who got the original release and are disappointed. I do think we are in fairly decent shape now, and we are working hard to improve and polish the game. I can't pretend to compare us to the architect's field except to say that software isn't carved in stone, and can be rapidly improved and changed. I think the aggressive update schedule indicates we aren't just sitting around doing nothing.

LOL, and this is why I have my loyalty towards ML admins/devs.

But its very surprising how the first game looks so nice? Is it done by the same people?

No, Strategy First sold the rights of MH to Muzzy Lane. Strategy First made MH1, and Muzzy Lane made MH2.

Actually all MH games are owned and developed by Muzzy Lane. Strategy First was simply a publisher for the first title.

We don't ban people for being critical, only if they become abusive or break the forum rules.

Yes, I understand, but people like that just really tick me off. If they make an account just to hate on ML and tell people they wasted money; when really they have no clue what they are talking about.

In my game, ever since I got it when it was released, the text is all blurry though the map and sprites look fine. I have tried updating directx and my graphics card without any luck and have also tried almost every combination of screen resolution and game resolution. Its not too big of a deal but its just damn hard to figure out what the text is saying, though I have begun to figure out which letters each blur and smudge is. I have been meaning to connect my laptop to my tv to see if that will work but I just havent gotten around to it. I'm also wondering if it's just me since all screenshots I have seen from other members on the forum are crystal clear. Any advice on how to fix my game and my eyes would be most appreciated.

No I made an account to ask if the game was likely to get any prettier and had no response at all which has made me decide to leave this forumand the game and be a long time coming back.

As way of a parting gift I would just like to say on the way out that you are just annoyed because you know what I say makes sense. And you probably deep down would rather have not spent your money on this product just yet, and now that you have you are damned well going to make the best of it. Well good on you sir!! You stick to that principle it will do you well in life just dont ever expect to have any money in the bank or any kind of life. As the time you waste waiting for this game to be fixed could be far far better spent elsewhere I would certainly hope. And this is coming from someone who has waited his fair share of time for broken games to be mended before he realised that life is just too short for that kind of rubbish.

Now go and do the sensible thing and shelve the game for three months, or even better sell it, and come back to this forum in December. In the meantime try Civ 5 which will almost certainly work out of the box and look absolutely beautiful. And in a months time you will be thanking me.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wait for it...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Before you actually tried to put up a good argument, now your just letting spite get the better of you. But yes, deep down I hate this game and this feeling of "enjoyment" I get when playing it isn't real, I'm just tricking myself. (Sarcasm hand raised)

I haven't seen anyone recently demand their money back for their purchase yet, and most times when people did, it was because they were doing something wrong. I have no regrets having this game on my computer, it's very fun to play and I'm well onto 650 turns in my current game, I'm about take part in an epic fight with Russia, it'll be a very long time before I ever decide to even think about shelving it. Heck man, I had fun playing the unfinished Beta.

I'll remind you one more time, you are playing the demo, you don't get the full, awesome experience we are getting. The only "broken" part of the game, as you put it, is the graphics, you are being completely ignorant about the rest of the game, there is, to my knowledge, nothing broken with it anymore, it's perfectly playable (unless the graphics aren't made with Unreal Engine apparently).

Before, I had some respect for you, but now... no.

So, that wasn't me still downloading patch fixes for Civ IV over the last 2 or 3 years? I love the game, sure, but the ORIGINAL Civ IV is not even close to how the game was by the last patch of Beyond the Sword. Oh, and Civilization games mostly update the content with Expansions that you have to BUY. Just something to ponder...

We're sorry you aren't satisfied with the visuals of our game. We do plan to improve them, but not at the cost of memory. We are working to resolve that issue and will continue working to improve every aspect of the game as fast as we can.

We're big fans of the work being done by Firaxis and it's great to hear you are too, but our games are not the same. Please don't assume everyone on these forums shares your interests in gaming and please don't assume your expectations define the word "fixed" as applied to Making History II.

I hope you check back with Making History II in a few months and I sincerely hope it is everything you want it to be.
