Here is a list of changes that I feel would benefit the game. I have made these notes during my first game, whilst impressions are fairly fresh in my mind. The majority of suggestions are aimed at easing play/information, so tend to have more to do with the interface. I hope they make some sense...

Making History 2 – Amendments

  1. Allow the sort feature (as with the diplomacy, region and city lists) in particular for the following lists to enable easier comparison of information:

Military (World comparison, Units etc) Government

Actually it’s probably a good idea to apply this to all lists. At the moment the feature seems to be applied on a rather adhoc basis in the lists

  1. Add info button to the technology news notification to allow an easy check on the ramifications of the newly acquired technology

  2. Allow paging back and forward between cities and regions when in the city/region mini screens

  3. Army dialog - Magnifying glass icon is not working when in merge mode

  4. In the Covert Action reports “Default” should read “Political Support” or “Home Propaganda” or something meaningful, with the home country flag below it

  5. Consider releasing an additional download link for the latest patch, so that users can keep a backup, if for whatever reason, Muzzy Lane ever stops supporting the game. This will enable users to restore games etc if they ever have hardware or virus problems requiring a reinstall from their CD disk. It’s just really a user protection suggestion, and hopefully an unlikely scenario – but just in case...

  6. Saving games - It would be nice to be able to select from a list of previous saved games or add a new save game

  7. Allow a transfer of a proportion of the turns to complete when changing production from one item to another of a similar type e.g. from a large factory to an industrial plant. This represents the fact that only a proportion of the effort would be wasted in modernisation of plant etc.

  8. Allow naval units to travel directly between Hamburg and Kiel using the Kiel Canal – Should be a special feature for the current owner of Schleswig-Holstein only, and is justified by its historical usage.

  9. Enable disbanded units to return their MPUs back to the MPU pool – (noticed this when disbanding a basic fighter). Following from this carried fuel and supplies and a proportion of resources (representing spare parts) should also be returned to their respective pools

  10. Disbanded units are reported as “destroyed” in the turn summary the “disbanded” description would be more informative

  11. AI - Seriously damaged fleets e.g. 50% HP or less should attempt to return to base for refit

Man, That is a lot of corrections
