Like the many people who play the 1944 scenario, it always seems, no matter who you play, Germany and Japan are almost always wtfpwned by the Allies. And Berlin usually falls around November 1944, sometimes earlier. Japan usually looses it's empire at about the time Germany actually surrendered IRL, somewhere around Early May 1945, or even April 1945.
In reality, Germany was still a powerful nation in 1944, and could have successfully held off the Soviets, had a tactical retreat been ordered. Germany still had over 2 million troops on the eastern front, prior to Bagration, meaning that Germany should in the scenario, if it had been done more realistically, should be able to hold out until around May or June 1945.
I plan to give the Germans a slight advantage in defence in the scenario, and have a little more troops stationed on the Eastern Front, and maybe a division or two more on the Western Front, this doesn't mean Germany will undoubtable drive the Allies and Soviets back to oblivion, but they will most likely be able to hold them off more realistically, and perhaps even have a chance to negotiate surrender.
Using historical sources, I will buff up the German military, and also improve the Soviet and Allies armies.
I will not be adding new units, techs, or anything like that, this is merely a test to see if the Germans were given a little more power, could they have held off their enemies for a little bit longer.
Since this isn't a large scenario, I will probably release it mid-next week or even tomorrow, if it comes to it.
Looking forward to playing it!
I have some similar ideas along the line : suppose the Allies had enforced the Yalta agreements regarding free elections in the liberated Eastern European countries and the territory of Germany, especially Berlin became a free for all?
Could be titled "Iron Curtain Averted"?

That would be a cool idea for a scenario, why not open the editor and try it yourself? I'd dl it.
I will..:) as soon as I figure out how.
I only got MH Gold about a month ago, and I'm still learning the way to make mods while alternating playing different scenarios. I am a bit of an "amateur historian" with a fairly extensive collection of non-fiction books (specially WW2). I am also intrigued by various "what if" versions of alternate history (Turtledove etc.).
Thanks for the encouragement :)

Looking forward to when you master it. ;)

Well, the first version, I'm still testing. I'm finished up in Europe, but now I have to move to stuff in the Pacific, and that's the hard part, because finding research about that region (except the islands) is extremely hard.
I need to watch Letters from Iwo Jima again.
