How about we do a comparison of worst case scenarios?

1) Heed the doomsayers and actually take steps to rectify the environmental impact wherever we can. Then ascertain that the measures were actually NOT necessary. Cost aside -- because any nation that can spend $1.3 trillion "off the books" on an unnecessary war apparently doesn't actually need precise Budgeting -- what's the downside? Cleaner air? Cleaner water? Renewable energy? Thousands of Green jobs created?

2) Ignore the doomsayers and do nothing. And then discover the doomsayers were correct. What are the consequences? Mankind's extinction? Near-extinction? Worldwide chaos from an abrupt HUGE die-off once the Bad Stuff hits critical mass? Nations warring for diminished/limited resources? (Like attacks on Brazil in order to control that large freshwater reservoir.) "Desperate times call for desperate measures" and the nukes start to fly?

One of my grandmother's favorite expressions was, "Better to have it and not need it than it is to need it but not have it." Her sentiment seems appropriate to even something as global as this issue.

But the OP is kind of right, but a little late. Thing is, that you usually don't notice the end of eras until afterwards. 9/11 anyone? It was the end of a relatively peaceful era, and the end of a relatively prosperous era. But there are good things, too. Take Europe for example. Barely 50 years ago it wasn't even predominantly peaceful and democratic, let alone prosperous. Historically speaking, it experienced the its best gains, changes and stuff ... since, well, ever.

Some parts of Europe hadn't experienced such a long time of peace for, well, ever, and it still hold and will hold for the foreseeable future, regardless of the fact that there is such a thing as China. Who cares, when some very basic achievements have finally been made in at least some parts of the world where this used to be a problem only 50 years ago:

  • oppression
  • hunger/thirst
  • war

The same goes for large parts of China, South America (not for everyone, but there is gradual improvement) or even Central America. You know it going upwards when indoor plumbing becomes a attainable standard even for the poorest.

Africa, Parts of the middle east, are a whole different thing, though. It is unbelievable how fast thing degenerate there, especially considering todays roaring food prices and such. Total chaos down there, it seems.

The situation in Africa is critical ... what are the worlds grand leaders supposed to do?

No one is going to leave forever. Not even the human race. Remember what the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible says. It says when GOD tells the angel to blow the trumphet the second time we will all be lined up to go before him on Judgement Day. On that day it will be decided if we live forever in hell or Heaven. May GOD forgive us for what we have done wrong.

Haha, AFRICA dude. Israel has a military dictatorship. You and USA are the most dangerous countrys ... cause you keep starting war. I have no interesting in Israel, rather than seeing the oppression against the Palestinian people disappear.

One things is for sure if someone doesn't take out Iran Iran & other Islamic countries will take out Israel. Both Shiite & Sunni Muslims believe in the coming of the 12th Imam. I suggest you do your own research on the 12th Imam & make up your own minds, but remember this is what they believe.
